Cardi B is using her platform to advocate for Vice President Kamala Harris. On Friday, the rapper appeared at the Democratic nominee’s rally in Milwaukee, walking out to her 2017 hit “Bodak Yellow.”

She initially hadn’t planned to vote in this election. However, her perspective shifted after Joe Biden withdrew and Harris became the nominee. Since then, she has been a vocal advocate for Harris.

At the rally, Cardi spoke about why she’s supporting Harris in the election, discussing women’s rights, the economy, healthcare, and more.

“Like Kamala Harris I too have been the underdog, I’ve been underestimated, my success belittled and discredited,” she said. “Let me tell you something, let me tell you something, women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better and still people question us how we got to the top.”

She added, “I wasn’t going to vote this year I wasn’t, but Kamala Harris joining the race, she changed my mind completely. I did not have faith on any candidates until she joined the race andsaid the things that I want, that I want to hear I want to see next in this country

Cardi had previously made her endorsement known on several occasions. In July, she posted on Instagram, “STOP PLAYING WIT ME!!!! Check the date… said this on JUNE 30TH! Been told y’all Kamala should’ve been the 2024 candidate.”

Her social media presence underscored her steady backing of Harris and her desire to see others recognize Harris’ potential. Other celebrities joined in support as Election Day neared. Jennifer Lopez drew attention with her appearance at Harris’ Halloween rally in Las Vegas, where she endorsed Harris following controversy from a remark at Donald Trump’s rally in Madison Square Garden, referring to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”

The star-studded support continued with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, former Destiny’s Child members, reuniting for a rally in Houston to support Harris’ presidential bid. Their appearance added substantial celebrity influence to Harris’ campaign and drew wide media coverage.

Beyond in-person events, several celebrities expressed their support for Harris on social media. Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, John Legend, Jamie Lee Curtis, Katy Perry, and Kerry Washington were among the prominent figures endorsing Harris online.
