Valentine’s day is right around the corner.
But if you don’t have boo thing, celebrate and appreciate the love you have for your girlfriends instead!
Galentine’s Day is celebrated the day before Valentine’s Day and commemorates friendships between women.
Surprisingly, Galentine’s Day wasn’t even an actual unofficial holiday until ten years ago when fictional character Leslie Knope mentioned it on “Parks and Recreation”. Since then, the holiday took off from there and women would come together to show their friends some love and attention.
So how do you celebrate a platonic day of love?
Take your friend out for a day or night on the town. Go out to lunch, spa day, do something together that you too love, treat the mani-pedi trip. If money is tight, a great night in would work too as long as it’s clear that some effort and thoughtfulness was put into planning the day.
Plan a gift exchange with your squad. It shows how well you know each other and that they matter. Set a budget for your pockets. And remember if all else fails, the quickest way to your homegirl’s heart is a bottle, which leads to our next option.
Wine, Wine, Wine
Never forget to remind your girlfriends that their relationships with you are just as important as any other. Guys will come and go but my girls are forever.
