Our hair is incredible. Our hair is magical. It can be braided, curled, straightened, cut, or dyed to completely change our look. Our hair can be a reflection of who we are or who we want to be at that moment. It can express our desires to be bold, fierce, and wild or our sentiments for a fresh start with a fresh look.  Our hair can even be our confidence boosters. It does so much for us, so it only makes sense to set aside a day to pamper and nurture such lusciousness.

What is Wash Day?

Wash day is a day dedicated to washing, detangling, moisturizing, combing, rinsing, conditioning, styling, deep conditioning, oiling, and prepping your hair for the style you want for the next day. This day is usually associated with natural hair, but every woman has her own wash day and routine to care for their hair to look its best.

Why it’s  Important?

Depending on your routine, such a day can seem stressful and long, but taking care of your hair is important. It’s a day of self care that is just as important to you as it is to your hair. Wash days are meant to give care for your hair and a form of respect it and yourself, because taking care of yourself will always be important.

Wash Day Routines

Even though the name implies it’s a day long process, that’s not necessarily true. It depends on your hair and your hair routine. Every woman’s routine will be different whether she has short or long hair, braids, curls, shaved or relaxed hair. But the biggest importance of your routine is knowing your hair and what products and techniques work for it. There is no one single routine that fits all, but once you figure out your washing, condition, moisturizing, and your styling ritual, your hair will thank you for it.
