For most Black women, embracing the natural hair life is like a rite of passage into womanhood. Megan Thee Stallion, an already established rapper and businesswoman in her own right, is using 2021 to embark on her own natural hair journey.
The 26-year-old Houston native took to Instagram last week to show off her progress. Aside from her noticeably healthy curls, Megan’s fans and fellow celebrity friends were just as impressed by her inches.
“Girl you are such an inspiration! We’ve never seen anything like it! BODY GOALS! HAIR GOALS! LIFE GOALS! thank you for your transparency. #HotGirlForLife!” stand-up comedian Jasmin Brown commented.

We’ve All Been There!
The Grammy Award-winning rapper’s new commitment to haircare is nothing new for Black women. Even when we try to keep our hair healthy under the protection of wigs, braids, and other styles, damage can still occur.
Just the same, Megan has been known to rock a wide variety of wigs and weaves throughout her career. Loyal fans might even argue that the “Houston-Hottie” put platinum-red hair back on the map during her debut. Now, fans can anticipate the best of both natural looks and protective styles from the star.
In February, she posted an instructional video on how she keeps her curls moisturized using products from the haircare and beauty brand Mielle Organics.
“While you’re on this #hotgirlhairjourney, you have to keep your hair moisturized! This product did it for me,” Megan wrote.

Megan has also been very open about her skincare journey. According to Harper’s Bazaar, She likes to stick to her tried-and-true products, such as Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser and Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.
“Every night before bed, I have to wash off the 20 pounds of makeup that I have on all day from doing hot-girl stuff, shooting on set, talking to cute boys,” the “Savage” singer revealed in the interview. “I just literally wash all the hot-girl stuff off, and then I put on a little moisturizer and a little Bio-Oil.”
Megan is not the only one who is rocking her natural tresses. In an interview with Mariah Carey for Interview Mag , Cardi B confessed that her peers criticized her natural hair during her childhood. Now, she uses her social media to document both her and her daughter’s natural hair journeys.
“When I was younger, I didn’t really know how to take care of my hair,” Cardi said. “So now I make my own hair mask and take care of my natural hair, and it makes me feel better. My hair was not bad because it was nappy. My hair was bad because I didn’t know how to take care of it.”
