In tech, where male voices often lead, Niravta Mathur and Archana Patchirajan are forging a different path. They’re not just co-founders of align27 but innovators who blend ancient wisdom with modern tools. Their creation isn’t your standard time management app — align27 is a blend of Vedic astrology, daily planning, rituals, and self-care to help users live more intentionally.
What makes align27 stand out isn’t just its unique fusion of ancient and modern — it’s the heart behind it. Niravta and Archana didn’t create the app to chase trends. Their goal is to create a tool that genuinely supports people in managing life’s challenges with greater focus and ease.
Trailblazing women of color in tech
For Niravta and Archana, entering wellness tech wasn’t about adding another app; it was rooted in their cultural backgrounds and a deep passion for holistic well-being.
“Tech should do more than manage your time — it should help you align with your true self,” Niravta says. “That’s what align27 is all about.”
In 2013, Archana sold her company MyCityWay for a significant amount (an entrepreneur’s dream), but even after that massive success, she wanted to build something with a deeper purpose, which led her to create Cosmic Insights and, eventually, align27.
“By blending the ancient with the modern, align27 guides people to live with intentionality,” Archana shares.
The founders’ unique journeys
Niravta Mathur: From PR powerhouse to wellness advocate
Niravta spent two decades shaping her career in fashion, luxury, and beauty, becoming an expert in branding and storytelling. All the while, her personal passion for holistic wellness quietly grew alongside her professional life. Over 25 years of breathwork and meditation became her grounding force. This personal practice eventually inspired her to shift to wellness tech.
“Fashion taught me how to tell a story. Wellness taught me why it matters, “she reflects. “With align27, those worlds are brought together.”
Her background in PR now drives align27’s voice: relatable, empowering, and grounded in authenticity.
Archana Patchirajan: From City Maps to Cosmic Paths
Archana’s career took off when she built MyCityWay, a city navigation app that eventually sold for millions. But success didn’t stop her from asking, “what’s next?”
She found her answer in holistic tech. Cosmic Insights was her first dive into Vedic astrology, and align27 expanded that vision.
“Tech isn’t just data and algorithms; it can be deeply human,” Archana says, “and align27 is proof of that.”
Her tech expertise ensures that align27 would be as seamless as it is spiritual.
The vision behind align27
With align27, users get help navigating life using more than just to-do lists. It tracks planetary movements, highlights optimal times for productivity, and integrates self-care rituals — all designed to help users find balance.
“People tell us they are more in sync with themselves after using the app,” Niravta notes. “That’s exactly what we hoped for.”
Building the app was a true partnership. Niravta began creating her vision for align27, using her deep knowledge of Vedic practices to provide users with a tool for their daily lives that incorporates astrology. She then joined forces with Archana, whose tech skills and background in Vedic astrology, combined with Niravta’s expertise, created a product that was both practical and soulful.
“We wanted something people could use every day — a tool that’s both simple and meaningful,” Archana explains.
Leadership, innovation, and representation
Breaking into tech as women of color wasn’t smooth sailing. Niravta and Archana dealt with funding challenges, unconscious biases, and the constant need to prove they belonged. Rather than letting these challenges hold them back, they used them as motivation to keep moving forward.
“Representation is powerful,” Niravta points out. “When women of color lead in tech, it shows others they can do it too.”
Archana agrees. “Our mission goes beyond the app — we’re building a community where people feel valued and supported.”
Outside of align27, Niravta and Archana invest time mentoring other women of color breaking into tech. They don’t just offer advice — they share hard-earned lessons, helping others navigate the same challenges they once faced.
The impact and future of holistic tech
By tapping into a core human desire for connection, balance, and purposeful living, align27 joins the rising trend of wellness tech designed to offer more than productivity hacks. With more people searching for meaningful tools, align27 stands out as a leader in this shift.
By integrating ancient wisdom with modern planning, align27 offers users a chance to navigate life with greater purpose and ease.
Niravta and Archana plan to expand align27’s feature, making it even more personalized and impactful because they believe that ancient wisdom should be accessible to everyone. Through align27, they’re showing that tech can be personal and deeply human and proving that in a world obsessed with efficiency, there’s still room for meaning and mindfulness.
