Neo, Morpheus, Trinity and Niobe couldn’t make the party but Zion definitely came to Orlando over the weekend. On Saturday, Warner Bros. sponsored a “Red Pill vs Blue Pill”, Matrix-themed, DJ Battle at Orlando’s Culture Fest. Thousands attended the Dec. 7 event ahead of The Matrix Resurrections, which premieres on Dec.22.
Thousands attended the outdoor dance day party that lasted well after sundown. The battle featured local Florida artists such as DJ Dr Doom (93.3 The Beat) and DJ D Strong of (104.5 The Beat) along with Tampa rapper Ayche, and Tallahassee’s Kevy Dat Deal. Other performances included Mystikal, Lil G from Silk and Jagged Edge. Orlando artist, CeCe Teneal and the Soul Kamotion band also hit the stage.

In the end, Team Red Pill, DJ Dr. Doom, and Kevy Dat Deal, were crowned as winners of the battle.
DJ D-Nice headlined with Combs Enterprises’ Kenny Burns as the host. Other Florida DJs had their moments to shine as well such as DJ Bo Weezy, DJ Kayotic, DJ Emcee, DJ Squirel, DJ Ghostrider, and DJ Sir Knight Train.
Representatives from Warner Bros. were there to give away t-shirts, caps, and glow bracelets. To get fans hyped for the upcoming movie, Matrix trivia and a backdrop for guests to take a picture in front of were also set up.
“Red Pill vs Blue Pill” was Orlando’s first music festival since the pandemic. No worries, no red or blue pills were offered or ingested during this event!
The Matrix Resurrections will feature original stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett-Smith; along with new faces such as Candyman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus.
