Six times the GOAT! Simone Biles makes history again!

On Thursday, the 27-year-old collected another gold medal in the women’s gymnastics all-around finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, sealing her legacy as the most decorated gymnast in history. The win also makes her the third woman to win two Olympic all-around titles, behind Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union who won nine and Czechoslovakia’s Vera Caslavska who won seven. and at the age of 27, the oldest Olympic woman champion since Maria Gorokhovskaya in 1952.

Biles scored 15.766 on the vault, followed by a 13.733 score on the uneven bars and the balance beam, where she scored 14.566. Finally, she ended with an epic 75-second floor performance that earned her a score of 15.066. Her overall score was 59.566.

Her teammate Suni Lee took bronze with a score of 56.465 and Brazilian Rebeca Andrade, considered the second-best gymnast in the world, took the silver medal with a score of 59.131.

Just a day before, the U.S. Women’s gymnastics team redeemed their spot at the top, winning gold in the team competition. Jordan Chiles shined on the moment with her matching gold grills to go with her gold medal.

Biles also had her bling, a diamond-encrusted goat.

“My GOAT necklace is just kind of an ode, because the people love it and then some people hate it so it’s like the best of both worlds,” she said as reported by CNN. “And I was like, OK, if it goes well, we’ll wear the GOAT necklace and I know people will go crazy over it.
But at the end of the day, it is crazy that I am in the conversation of greatest of all athletes, because I just still think I’m Simone Biles from Spring, Texas, that loves to flip.”
