BET is ushering in a new era of leadership with the appointment of multi-hyphenate entertainer and entrepreneur Keke Palmer to its Board of Advisors.

The network announced that Palmer was unanimously selected to join the advisory board, which was established earlier this month by BET President Louis Carr. The Board brings together influential leaders from entertainment, business and culture to help guide the future of the 45-year-old network as it continues to shape conversations at the intersection of media, community and culture.

Designed to serve as both a strategic and cultural sounding board, the Board of Advisors will provide insight, perspective and accountability as BET expands its reach while continuing to amplify the voices and stories that move Black culture forward.

Palmer’s appointment reflects that mission.

For more than two decades, the Emmy and NAACP Image Award-winning actress, host, producer and entrepreneur has built a career defined by versatility and innovation. From becoming the first Black actress to portray Cinderella on Broadway to leading projects across television, film and digital media, Palmer has consistently demonstrated an ability to connect with audiences across generations.

Her relationship with BET spans years. She became one of the youngest personalities to host her own talk show with Just Keke, making her appointment a full-circle moment for both the network and the entertainer.

“Keke Palmer represents the future of entertainment,” said Louis Carr, President of BET. “She understands audiences, embraces innovation, and has consistently used her platform to open doors for others. Her insight, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset will be invaluable as we continue positioning BET for the next generation.”

Music has also remained a cornerstone of Palmer’s career. From her early single Bottoms Up and co-writing the True Jackson, V.P. theme song to releasing the Virgo Tendencies EPs through her Big Bosses Record Label and her deeply personal 2025 album JustKeke, she has consistently used music as a platform to share her lived experiences.

Beyond entertainment, Palmer has expanded her impact through entrepreneurship. She founded the digital media platform KeyTV and launched Practice by Palmer in 2026, a wellness platform focused on movement, mindfulness and self-discovery. Her business ventures complement her ongoing philanthropic efforts supporting young women and underserved communities.

With Palmer’s addition, BET’s Board of Advisors includes founder Bob Johnson, Queen Latifah, LL COOL J, Troy Vincent, Raymond J. McGuire, George Cheeks, and Palmer as its newest member.
