The 30-year-old entrepreneur, singer, model, actress, and dancer is crowned Maxim’s first Black woman to be named ‘Sexiest Woman Alive.’ Taylor tops Maxim’s Hot 100 list and appears on their July/August cover.
“I’ve followed Maxim for a long time and I’ve always felt like I should be on the cover,” Taylor expressed her excitement during the cover interview “So to actually get the call saying they want me on the cover really meant a lot. I was like, what? They want me on the cover? Okay!”
True beauty
The Coming 2 America actress shared her experience about shooting the Maxim cover on her Instagram page. She shared as a “working entrepreneur, wife, a busy mother of two,” there is “not much time to be and feel sexy.”
“This particular day was dope because it made me see another side of myself,” she posted. “I had just dropped JUNIE off at school before heading straight to the shoot; sweatpants a beanie and an army jacket. My hair wasn’t done for a “shoot” because I planned on throwing on a wig & I didn’t have on any makeup.”
But when she arrived at the shoot, photographer Gilles Bensimon insisted that they photograph her just the way she was in her sweatpants and skully.
She quoted actress Audrey Hepburn, ” The beauty of a woman is not in facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.’ Embrace and love yourselves for who & what you are because only the purest heart shines through.”

Taylor is truly a Royal Woman On The Go. But she is not only sexy in looks but also in brains as well. Currently, she is the creative director for Pretty Little Things. Her latest music project, The Album, debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200. It is her first album to make the Billboard Top 10.

The “Wake Up Love” singer married NBA player Iman Shumpert in 2016. Together, they have two children, Iman Tayla Shumpert, Jr. (nicknamed ‘Junie’) 5, and infant Rue Rose. Additionally, this fall the couple will be premiering their first reality show together called We Got Love Teyana & Iman, on E!
