Dreams do come true for Anika Noni Rose! The Princess and the Frog star and Tony-award-winning actress snagged herself a real prince when she married actor Jason Dirden. The two tied the knot in a private Los Angeles ceremony on October 16, 2022.
Brides shared the wedding photos. Rose posted the two magazine covers on her Instagram.
“Soooo, did a big something,” she captioned one of the posts. “Your Princess has found her Prince.” The couple met as castmates in the Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun. They kept their friendship and eventual relationship private.
“We were friends for a couple of years, actually,” Rose shared with Brides. “We both went off and did our own things and were disconnected for a while and then swung back.” She added, “Neither one of us really planned to end up with somebody in the business. We have fun. We laugh a lot, which is really, really important. And we don’t talk so much about the business.”

The American Soul actor proposed to the Dreamgirls actress in December 2021.
Dirden added, “When we first worked together, that’s what drew us in together as friends. This woman is so silly. She has a four-year-old child living inside of her that will never go away. She loves to prank people, and she has that kind of spontaneous silliness to her that allowed us both to release any type of armor or any type of defense mechanism and allowed us to really just be who we are with each other. We created this friendship walking 60 blocks from rehearsal to the gym, just talking about life, or about anything really. It had nothing to do with the play that we were working on. There’s always been that kind of comfort and ease between us.”
