Life is a rollercoaster. Whether it’s work, family, or personal obligations, these demands can make it challenging to prioritize self-care. Many people feel they don’t have the time, energy, or resources for self-care. But here’s the truth: self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.

It’s about engaging in activities that make you feel not only exceptional but fulfilled. If you’re struggling to find ways to incorporate self-care into your busy schedule, certified Pure Barre Instructor and owner of the self-care stationary brand, Living on the Butter Side Lifestyle, Tiombe Huggins shares how you can incorporate self-care into your daily routine.

Start your morning with intention

In the morning, before you begin scrolling on your phone or responding to emails, take the time to set your intentions for the day. That can be either meditating, journaling, or simply watching the sun come up. Give yourself time to think.

Get moving

Get your body moving! Participate in a physical activity. Exercise has many health benefits and one of them is its ability to help release stress. Either go for a walk or join a group fitness class.

Set boundaries, stick to them and be unapologetic about it

Start setting boundaries now. Do not be afraid to say no. If you are unable to meet an additional request at work because of your current workload, it is okay to say no. Know your limits.
