Walt Disney World continues to show its love and appreciation of historically Black colleges and universities and the Divine 9 at the Disney Dreamers Academy.
Members of the Divine 9 performed at the welcome ceremony for the annual mentorship program on Thursday.
Led by drum major Mickey, members of fraternities Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Iota Phi Theta and sororities, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho came together for a unity step show for the students.

The performance was part of Disney’s On The Yard, the company’s in-house initiative to connect HBCU students and faculty to Disney employees (who are called cast members), who graduated from HBCUs through scholarships, mentorship, internships, campus events, etc.
“We’re creating meaningful pathways for students to explore and grow their careers across Disney, from storytelling and media to technology, hospitality and more,” says senior outreach and engagement manager Corey Savage, who is also a proud HBCU alum of North Carolina A&T. “That commitment starts even before college, through programs like Disney dreamers Academy, helping high school students, many of whom go on to attend HBCUs, gain exposure, build confidence and envision a future filled with possibilities.”
The Disney Dreamers Academy took place at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando from March 26-30.
