We don’t usually profile the men species, but these two guys earned it!
Let’s face it, we’re terribly missing our First Family. Most of our computer backgrounds and social media feeds still have their smiling, beautiful, empowering, regal faces looking back at us. But now, thanks to a Chicago designer, we can take them everywhere we go.
Chance the Rapper teamed up with JoeFreshgoods’, to model his latest line of new Obama-themed clothing called ‘Thank You Obama’. Chance debuted the line on his Twitter on Thursday and the site immediately crashed ( but don’t worry its backed up). The line includes a black and red jersey with the iconic 44 number, representing the former President’s place in office and a ‘King Obama’ black t-shirt.
And something cute for us, Royal Women, the designer pays tribute to the Obama’s wedding date, with a pink and purple airbrush sweatshirt and a ‘Thank You’ Michelle Navy blue shirt. There’s even a ‘Malia’ shirt that says ‘we all smoke its ok’, which is a light hearted referral to her appearance at Lollapalooza last summer. ( How about a Malia, ‘we all twerk its ok’ shirt? Just a idea)
The designer shared his inspiration behind the line on his website.
with this project i wanted to timestamp a period in my life where i felt like i can do whatever i wanted to do and be whatever i wanted to be. The night obama won his first term gave me so much hope, especially & most importantly as a black man. I decided to make a collection saying “thank you” and give me something to smile at every now and then when i look in the closet.
Joe, Chance we’re in so love with this line! Thank you for quenching our blues and we look forward to purchasing every single item ( especially the ‘Malia’ and ‘Thank You Michelle’ shirts)!
