Syreeta B

“I kept getting fired. I was trying to fit where I didn’t belong. The universe whispered, ‘This isn’t your place.’ If I got fired from the best agency, I knew it wasn’t for me”

Syreeta Butler’s path into mental health advocacy is woven with her experiences in diverse communities. Growing up in Los Angeles, a move to a predominantly white town during her teenage years instilled a tenacious spirit that guides her advocacy today.

“Facing repeated setbacks taught me I was in the wrong place. It was a sign to find my calling,” Syreeta reflects.

During her college years, the complexities of mental health, particularly within communities of color, became evident. Armed with degrees in Psychology and African American Studies with a focus on arts and literature, Syreeta embraced the richness of thought and experiences these disciplines offered.

Today as the founder of Syreeta B. Psychotherapy, the family and marriage therapist is contributing a solution to the much larger stigma of mental health in the Black community.

A Healing Force for Musicians

Syreeta B’s reach extends to musicians, including R&B singer Summer Walker.  Her impact has been transformative for many artists in the music industry. Working closely with artists navigating mental health challenges in the face of fame, her role as a therapist offers them a safe haven.

Her support has been instrumental in Summer’s journey towards holistic well-being amidst the demands of the music industry.

“Artists are sensitive souls, their vulnerability connects with us deeply. Recognizing their unique emotional landscape is essential,” she reveals to RoyalTee.

Breaking Stigmas, Fostering Healing

Championing mental health is Syreeta’s mission. She sheds light on the stark disparities in treatment, advocating for a comprehensive approach that addresses the full spectrum of an individual’s circumstances.

“Money and status can amplify struggles. Acknowledging pain and addressing it compassionately is where the magic lies,” Syreeta emphasizes.

Her journey hasn’t been without hurdles; challenging conventions led her to establish “Just B Consulting,” a platform driven by her determination to reform systemic norms.

Inspiring Millennials through Empowerment

Syreeta B’s story embodies empathy, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to mental health advocacy. Her influence encourages millennials to reshape their approach to mental health, fostering resilience and empowerment, particularly among women of color.

In a world where the pressures on artists often remain unseen, Syreeta B stands as a beacon of support. Her collaboration with musicians like Summer Walker highlights the transformative impact of her healing-oriented advocacy.

What makes Syreeta B a Royal Woman?

“Being able to love unconditionally and forgive unconditionally, to not hold bitterness in my heart, for whatever my circumstances would be that I didn’t have a choice in. Knowing that I am of sound mind, body, and heart..that I am good. I couldn’t ask for a better life, because i have love and forgiveness in my heart, and all these things that are intangible in my heart..are what make me Royaltee.”
