Keke Palmer recently shared feelings all new moms could relate to: that indescribable love for your child. During a recent appearance on The View, Palmer, 29, spoke about parenting son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, and how she now understands how her mother felt about her.
“ I understand my mother more now,” she shared. “You’re like, ‘mom I’m sorry.’ I didn’t realize how much you loved me. It’s a love you can’t describe.”
Palmer, 29, welcomed her first son Leodis Andrellton Jackson in February with boyfriend Darius Jackson. She also dished on another relatable new parent dilemma: the lack of sleep.
“There’s no amount of ways that people can warn you about that lack of sleep honey,” she said. “You get delirious.”
Keke Palmer’s breastmilk airport incident
Palmer had a recent unpleasant experience with her breast milk at Houston Airport. Last month, the KeyTV CEO and actress claimed the Transportation Security Administration threatened to throw out the breast milk she pumped for her son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson.
“Breast milk discrimination at the Houston airport ruined my mood.” she Keke tweeted on June 12. “I should’ve popped my tit out right then because the discretion and comfort of pumping is thwarted with threats to throw out over 16oz my babies food?!?!!! Why is that not a crime??I’M A MOTHER for crying out loud.”
TSA has the following guidelines regarding breastmilk and baby formula stating, “Formula, breast milk, toddler drinks, and baby/toddler food (to include puree pouches) in quantities greater than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters are allowed in carry-on baggage” according to the TSA website, “and do not need to fit within a quart-sized bag.”
A bill called BABES Enhancement Act, was recently introduced by Democratic Congresswoman Katie Porter. The bill would require TSA to work with maternal health organizations to update their guidelines.
“The federal government doesn’t need to add to the stress of moms when they’re traveling,” said Rep. Porter in a statement introducing the bill. “Moms should be able to fly without worrying about how to keep their baby healthy and fed.”
Other than the airport breastmilk incident, Palmer has been seemingly enjoying motherhood. Last month she featured baby Leo in an Instagram reel promoting her Big Boss album.
“YOGA??,” she captioned the video. “ Baby Leo has already been through so MUCH.”
Comedian Tony Baker did the baby’s voiceover.
