At the age of 8, Anaya Lee Willabus made history by becoming the youngest person ever to publish a chapter book in the United States. Now at 9, she’s launched a full-time writing career. The Brooklyn-native started putting pencil to paper at the age of 2.
Her first book, “The Day Mohan Found his Confidence”, is an empowering story of a little boy who is faced with challenges at school and home, but with the help of his friends and family, he ultimately learns he can do anything.
In an interview with PIX 11, when asked about her book, she says the accomplishment was amazing. “It’s just so inspirational, not only for me but for younger kids and that’s good.”
The young novelist isn’t just limited to children’s books as well. One of her favorite books happens to be “Dreams from My Father” by President Barack Obama.
When she grows up, Willabus says wants to change the world by becoming a teacher and continue her career as a author.
Could we be looking at a future Pullitzer Prize winner? Only time will tell but Willabus is defiantly a Royal Girl!
