When waiting on a flight, most of us would either be on scrolling the newsfeed, texting, taking selfies, playing the ‘mean-mug, what you looking at’ game with people walking by or all of the above. But not Shemika Charles!
The self-proclaimed “Limbo Queen” showed everybody at Philadelphia International Airport how low she can go! While waiting on her flight to Wisconsin, she stunned onlookers by performing a limbo just mere inches off the ground under a set of seats in the waiting area.
The Trinidadian native is a two-time Guinness World Record holder for Limbo Dancing. Trinidad and Tobago is actually the home of limbo. Her mother a limbo dancer so its safe to say she gets is from her mama?
In 2010, she broke her first record for the lowest limbo by a female at 8.5 inches off the ground. And then she broke another record when she did a limbo under a SUV. Today she performs all over the world, including special shows in Las Vegas and NBA halftime shows. Charles has also appeared on the hit T.V. showcase, America’s Got Talent.
Charles is from Buffalo, New York. Her hometown is so proud of her accomplishments the mayor declared October 8th 2010 as Shemika Charles Day. Currently, she is working on developing a line of merchandise which includes athletic wear, fitness books and a official Limbo Dance Kit.
