Former NFL player, DeAngelo Williams‘ lost his mother to breast cancer in 2014 and four of his aunts. To honor their memories, his non-profit has covered the cost for over 500 mammograms and he says he has no plans on stopping!

The DeAngelo Williams Foundation made the announcement on their Twitter and Facebook Wednesday.

“This is dedicated to my mom, my aunts & women everywhere affected by Breast Cancer. I love you,” the former Pittsburgh Steelers player wrote in a caption of a video he first tweeted in 2015.

Williams’ mother, Sandra Hill, was 53 years old when she passed away from metastic breast cancer. His aunts died from cancer all before the age of 50.

“Pink is not a color, it’s a culture for me,” Williams said in the video clip. “To all the survivors and the ones who’s going through it, we love you. You are not alone. We will continue this fight against breast cancer.”

Events such as the 2019 53 Strong DeAthlon help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.
