Just call her Professor Banks.
Supermodel and business mogul Tyra Banks will be teaching a course on creating a brand and protecting it at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. The two-week course (“Project You: Building and Extending your Personal Brand”) begins next May and will be open to about 25 graduate students. And don’t expect to find any runways or weird photoshoot set-ups, says the former “America’s Next Top Model” host. The course is intended to be all business about building the personal brand of Y-O-U!
During the course, students will learn what is a personal brand, why do they need it and how could them differentiate themselves from other individuals. Banks will be co-lecturing the course with management professor and former television executive, Allison Kluger. Together the two will guide students on how to handle on-air exposure and create long-term strategies for promotion across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook Live and YouTube.
This will be Banks’ first teaching job; however, it will not be her first time in the college environment. In 2011, she enrolled in a three-year Owner/President Management Program at Harvard University. The program allowed her to launch her very own self-funded startup called TYRA Beauty in 2014.
