During a massive call for racial equality, Walt Disney World is doing its part to #changethenarrative

Their popular Walt Disney World attraction, ‘Splash Mountain’ is getting revamped and rethemed to ‘The Princess and the Frog’.  Tony-award winning actress Anika Noni Rose starred as the first African-American Disney princess in the 2009 musical film.

According to Disney, the ride will be set in 1966 New Orleans and include all of the songs from the movie.

“It is really exciting to know that Princess Tiana’s presence in both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom will finally be fully realized! As passionate as I am about what we created, I know the fans are going to be over the moon,” Noni says. “The Imagineers are giving us ‘The Princess and the Frog’ Mardi Gras celebration we’ve been waiting for, and I’m here for it!”

For the past month, there has been a growing call to revamp ‘Splash Mountain’, because of its connection to a racially, offensive film, ‘Song of the South’.
