The awards show is all about celebrating accomplishments of women of color, which Jackson has plenty of! The 52 year-old superstar and mother recently released her first single in three years titled “Made For Now”, featuring Daddy Yankee.
Last week she made an appearance at the 44th annual Harlem Week, where she was honored by the MTA and Harlem Chamber of Commerce.
This was my first train ride on the MTA u guys! What an experience 🙆🏽♀️ But I love me some Harlem! Enjoyed my #HarlemWeek block party with @DaddyYankee and u all. Thank you Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce for all the love and to the @impactrep for the beautiful Rhythm Nation dance tribute 😘 So special 💜 ⠀ #MadeForNow
