In Orlando, a search is underway for Miya Marcano. The 19-year-old was last seen around 4:30 p.m on Sept. 24, at the Arden Villas Apartments in Orlando, where she worked.
Her family told Central Florida news outlet, she had planned to fly to Fort Lauderdale to visit relatives but missed her flight.
On Monday, the person of interest, Armando Manuel Caballero, 27, was found dead, from an apparent suicide. He was a maintenance worker at Arden Villas, where she lived and worked.
Deputies said Caballero had “demonstrated a romantic interest” in Marcano, but she repeatedly refused him.
“It appears he has killed himself,” Orange County Sheriff John Mina said as reported by CNN. “I want to reiterate, Miya is still missing.”
Mina added there was an arrest warrant for Caballero for burglary.
“Her disappearance is suspicious, and our detectives and the family members obviously suspect foul play.”
Thirty minutes before Marcano got off that Friday, deputies said used a master key to enter her apartment.
