For Hispanic Heritage Month, Afro-Latina artist Reyna Noriega partnered with Schick Intuition to design their two-in-one Sensitive Care razor.

.Noriega is a former high school art teacher who took a leap of faith and decided to pursue a full-time career in art with the support of her loved ones. Born to a Cuban father and a Bahamian mother, the Miami native has a passion for culture, colors, and plants, all of which can be seen in her work.

“My work is inspired by my desire to uplift women of color in beautiful ways, and with this vibrant razor for which I got to bring to life my love for color, plants, and beautiful representations of the women I hope will use the razor,”  Noriega shared in a press release. “I seek to continue to share the joy and positivity of our Latino heritage while empowering everyone to embrace their unique beauty.”

But it’s more than the colors and plants.  Representation is always at the forefront of her work.

“I always want to emphasize that Latinidad is such a wide spectrum, and it’s not one-size-fits-all, and I’m glad that I can be a representation of that,” she told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “Having my face and my story [on platforms] is super important for little girls walking by and seeing that I’m no different or better than them and that this is what is possible.”

The sensitive-care razor is available in Target.  This is not the first time Noriega has expressed her Afro-Latina roots on a retail scale. Noriega has showcased her talents with brands such as Apple, American Express, Old Navy, and Band-Aid for  National Nurses Month, honoring Black Nurses.
