Since news broke that Disney has penned 19-year-old Halle Bailey of Chloe x Halle, as Ariel in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, racists have been coming out of the backwoods in rebellion. Some going even as far as making Facebook pages such as Christians Against The Little Mermaid and hashtags like #MakeArielWhiteAgain have been trending. The hate has been unbelievable. So to counteract this ignorance, we listed everything that is beautiful about a black Ariel.
