The ‘Level Up’ Queen is sticking by her man in the latest clapback against their relationship.

During an August 1st interview with 97.9 The Box, rapper Slim Thug made a few comments about CiCi and her marriage to Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson. When the show host asked him if he believed a woman who used to talked to a man like Future would want a Russell, the Texas rapper disagreed and said it was all for the money.

“Do a woman who used to talk to Future want a Russell Wilson, I don’t believe so,” the rapper said. ” I think it’s all for financial stability.” (Even though Ciara was a multi-platinum artist long before Russell came into the picture, but we would carry on)

He further explained himself and labeled Wilson as a ‘corny dude’.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with it,” he adds. “I ain’t gonna say corny that’s hatin’, he’s just a square…I don’t believe a girl coming from a street dude could adapt to that.”

On Saturday (August 4), Ciara made two posts on her Instagram that appeared to respond Slim Thug’s comments. The first one read, “repeating the same bad habit over and over again, is a form of insanity. There comes a time in your life when you know better and you have to do better. You owe it to yourself, it’s just that simple.”

She captioned the post, “let’s not make things complicated when they don’t need to be.”

Let’s briefly outline the contrasts between a “corny dude” and “street dude”

Ciara and ex-fiancé Future started dating in 2012 and the two seemed to be head over heels each other from day one. In an 2013 interview with The Qdeezy Show, the “Body Party” singer called Future a gentleman and an amazing man.

“It’s like when we were working on the personal side of things, I really saw an amazing person and the way that he approached me since day is just the way a man is supposed to be from my perspective.”

In 2013, the two got each other’s initials tattooed on their hands and were engaged and pregnant soon after. But in-between the wedding, baby planning and cheating allegations, things started to go sour for the Atlanta couple and the two called it quits in 2014. Ciara was pregnant with Baby Future.

Soon after, Mr. Russell Wilson came into the picture. From his epic proposal in the Maldives and fairytale wedding to major, historical money moves, by all accounts, Ciara has found a winner in Russell! Recently, the quarterback Prince Charming made Ciara the first women to owe a Major League Baseball team. The two also share a beautiful daughter together.

Her song, “Level Up” has turned into a viral dance challenge and is empowering both men and women to know their worth and want better for themselves.

Back in January, Ciara received backlash for reposting a clip from John Grey’s “He Finds A Wife” sermon, in which the pastor said, “too many women want to be married but you’re working in the spirit of girlfriend.”

Ciara responded to the criticism, explaining, “I was once that girl wanting to be loved a certain way but was making the wrong choices. I found myself at my lowest moment. I was a single mom sitting at home, and I then realized that the perfect love I was looking for was how God loves me, how He wants me to be loved, and who He was calling me to be as a mom and a woman. That’s when I realized married or unmarried…I needed to love myself. #LevelUp ( hence the song )

We’re not mad at you CiCi!
