Simone Biles Has Her Own ‘GOAT’ Twitter Emoji Now

There’s no denying that Simone Biles is the greatest gymnast of all time. To honor the incredibleness that is her, Twitter has blessed the 24-year-old four-time Olympic gold medalist with her very own goat emoji. The acronym ‘GOAT,’ stands for ‘greatest of all time.’ A goat emoji dressed in a red leotard one-piece with a gold medal around its neck will automatically populate at the end of her name when you type. 

Biles is the first female athlete ever to receive her own Twitter hashtag emoji. The only other athletes to receive goat emojis are NFL players,  Tom Brady, and Patrick Mahomes.

Although many of us have been calling her ‘the goat’ since day one, the term did not officially start circulating until 2019 when she started wearing a goat on her leotard, which she nicknamed ‘Goldie.’ 

“I don’t think of myself as the G.O.A.T. and that’s not why I wear the goat on my leo,” she told PEOPLE.  “It was kind of a joke in the beginning. I wore one in 2019 and it was just funny because the haters were so upset. What we did is to kind of tick them off even more. So I was happy because it’s like good, now you guys are annoyed because you’re annoying me.”

The G.O.A.T.

Although Biles does not see herself as a goat, her accomplishments secure her as the G.O.A.T.

On Thursday, she completed the world’s hardest vault in practice during a podium practice. The 24-year-old executed a Yurchenko double pike, which involves a round-off onto the springboard, a back handspring onto the vault, and ends with a piked double backflip to the landing.

What particularly makes this move so dangerous, in addition to the twists, are the increased chances of landing on your neck and head. 

If she lands that move this weekend during the Olympic competition, it will be the fifth skill and second vault named after her, according to NBC Sports. 

But Biles’ coach Laurent Landi says she didn’t intend to try it out. “Imagine if she falls and she doesn’t qualify for the vault final. You give away a gold medal already,” he told On Her Turf.  He added, “It’s more for her,” he said. “The fact that she does something amazing like this, it’s great for gymnastics and it’s great for her.

However if Biles doesn’t do anything else, she has already over-solidified herself ten times over as the most decorated gymnast in history with 7 U.S. titles. The six-member U.S. women’s gymnastics team is favored to win gold in the 2020 Tokyo games. The gymnastics competition begins Saturday, July 24 at 9 p.m. EST.
