At her first track meet, Ziyah Holman was not playing games! The University of Michigan freshman broke her school’s records and lead her team to a stunning victory at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational took place on Jan. 23. Sis really came and showed out!

The team was lagging behind a whole 4 seconds during their 4×400 relay.
However, this was no difficult feat for Holman! In a 51.79 split, the 18-year-old made up four seconds on the anchor leg and was able to surpass the two Ohio state seniors for the win in 3:48.02.
It did not take long for the short 57-second video to go viral on all social media platforms.
Earlier in this event, Holman broke another record! She won the 600-meter race by four seconds, her time being 1:29.27. This was a stadium record and a meet record!
And of course, the Washington D.C native received her rightful praise!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE.
The 4×4 is SUCH a tough race, but also one of the best…
and Ziyah Holman clearly OWNS it!

Never give up in athletics.
Last weekend, @UMichTrack‘s Ziyah Holman ran a 51.79 split in the women’s 4x400m relay to snatch victory against the odds. Incredible! pic.twitter.com/B2Qv1Rzlmh

No freshman to victory!
While this shocking win surprised nearly 3 million people on Twitter online, Ziyah is no freshman to victory. In high school, she shattered her school’s record in the 4×400 relay for Team USA at the 2019 Pan-American U20 Championships. Holman was an anchor, the fastest and strongest runner on a team since she was a freshman in high school. When Holman got that victory Saturday afternoon, it was like visiting old times again. A strong comeback was and still is, her thing!
Mark my words, this will not be the last we see of Ziyah Holman. The summer Olympics are just around the corner!
