#OnTheGo

If you haven’t planned a trip with your squad lately, now may be a good reason to do so! According to an article by Southern Living, researchers shared that hanging out with your friends can increase the production of oxytocin, the hormone that makes us happy.

In other words, spend some more time with your girls! It’s good for you! The findings are based off a 2016 report. Researchers also concluded that people with great friendships and spend time together, have a longer life expectancy, a lower rate of heart disease and can tolerate pain better than other people who do not have close, friendships. People who don’t have strong friends tend to be more depressed and die at a younger age.

Taking a girls trip has been trending long before Will Packer put it in overload in his 20126 comedy, Girls Trip. But many women have been their adventures beyond the Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Of course, ‘adulting’ can get in the way of our girl time ( i.e. kids, marriage, relationships,  moving away, college, etc.). You may not be able to see your bestie everyday or talk, but quality time is everyday. Plan ahead for vacation time, especially if you all are long-distanced. But make it happen! Your body will take you for it!
