Remember Marley Dias? The cute and ambitious 11-year-old who launched a national book drive to collect books where black girls were the ‘Sheroes’.

Now at 12-years-old, she’s writing her own book. The pre-teen has signed a deal with Scholastic. The book doesn’t have a title yet but it will be about social justice and activism. Dias released a  statement through Scholastic,  saying she hopes her book would help  advance “inclusion” and “social action”.

Marley already has her own publication, sponsored by  Elle magazine, called Marley Mag. Since launching her book drive, she has collected more than 8,000 books ans has admirers ranging from Former First Lady Michelle Obama and filmmaker Ava DuVernay to world-renowned dancer, Misty Copeland.

Her book is scheduled to be released in spring of 2018.
